The Event

What could be better than seeing the Grand Slam live in Melbourne? The Australian Open is one of those events that is just so much better to see live, than on any television. Immersing yourself courtside, and having the opportunity to see tennis legends such as Federer, Williams and Nadal, is as good as it gets. Australian Open 2020 takes place from 20th January to 2nd February.

Being one of only four Grand Slam events played in the southern hemisphere, it is a battle of stamina and strategy, from the very first serve, to the final ball. See the superstars up close and personal as they play their best. Imagine, sitting back in the middle of the beautiful Melbourne summer, with a cool drink and watching this spectacular live.

The Venue

Not only is Melbourne one of Australia’s most beautiful cities, but a better venue you couldn’t find. Melbourne Park is a purpose built tennis extravaganza. Not only are there the outside courts, but then the Margaret Court Arena and the Rod Laver Arena.

Game Play

As there are huge number of elimination matches played at the commencement of the Australian Open, you can get your hand on cheap tickets to the outside courts starting from around $40. This allows you to move throughout all of the courts, with the exception of the Margaret Court and Rod Laver Arena’s. Even though the outside courts are smaller than the arenas, it gives you a great opportunity to get up close to your favourite players.

Splash Out

When it comes time to the finals, that’s when you might want to flash the plastic and buy some great tickets in either of the two finals arenas. It’s here where you get to see the absolute best of the best put on a show you won’t forget anytime soon. The best thing about the two arenas, is that rain, hail or shine, the action never stops, due to the amazing retractable roofs.

Food and Fun

There’s also a stack of different cuisines to enjoy while you’re courtside. The River Terrace restaurant is sure to have what your tummy tells you it desires, and you can even enjoy a wee bevvy as the venue is licensed. Plus in addition to the food is the entertainment. The Heineken Live Stage gives way to some of Australia’s best and hottest bands to keep you rocking through your adventure.

Maybe you just want a cool coffee cup for your desk at work, a poster for your wall, a player towel, or even take the opportunity to purchase one of the custom designed Lacoste clothing items, that are unique every year.
